Social Work Services

Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma's social work representatives provide supportive counseling to patients and their loved ones for a large variety of needs; including grief issues and help in understanding the mixed emotions that accompany a terminal illness.  Our social work representatives have access to educational materials to help family members of all ages to understand the common feelings associated with their impending loss. Often just being able to share feelings and emotions with someone who cares and understands can help individuals through a very difficult time.

Our social work representatives are very knowledgeable about community resources; and once a need is identified, will work with the patient or family to access local services. Help is also provided with veteran benefits, living wills, durable power of attorney, and Do Not Resuscitate(DNR) orders. In addition, social work is also available to assist with funeral planning if needed.

Remember, you are not alone with Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma.
