Spiritual Services
Spiritual issues are an important part in the care of a
patient under Hospice care. As a member of the Hospice
team, the Spiritual Services provide chaplain/clergy services
and support for the patient and family. Some of the many
services offered by our Spiritual Services include:
Assessment of
spiritual needs and preferences for the patient and family.
Spiritual counseling
and support which respects the patient and family beliefs, often serving
as a liaison between them and the religious community.
Education and
consultation for the patient, family, and the hospice team members
included in the care plan.
We
provide an outlet to share feelings and companionship without
judgment as they approach the end of life journey.
Assistance with
finishing important tasks, healing broken relationships, saying the final
goodbyes and coming to terms with dying and those who they are leaving
behind.
Our
staff recognizes how important spiritual care and support are to
the grieving process. When a person comes to terms with
their illness and situation it makes the transition and grieving
process less traumatic for the people in their lives.
Assistance with memorial
services and funeral arrangements are available at the family's request.
** HSWO is a nonprofit, United Way organization
that promotes comprehensive hospice care services for the patient
and their family. We continuously provide community and professional
