Volunteering

Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma began in 1983 as a small agency formed by a group of volunteers.  Together these volunteers began a special program of care for persons who no longer fit into the traditional approach to aggressive curative treatment.  Today, over 20 years later, that same determined spirit remains as HSWO continues to serve the community as the only not-for-profit hospice in our area.  The volunteers hands-on assistance allows our organization to grow stronger as we impact the quality of life by providing "Care Beyond the Cure" for southwest Oklahomans.

Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma provides thorough orientation and training for all volunteer opportunities, and each area is just as important as the next.  In as little as one morning or afternoon a week, volunteers make a difference with every second they give providing comfort, support, and genuine care to the people they nurture.

If you would like to become a volunteer, please call our Volunteer Director at (580) 248-5885 or by email at volunteer@hospiceofswok.org.
